Art of making Himmeli, a wonderful finnish christmas decorations has recently become very popular in Finland. Himmeli artist Eija Koski has definitely had a big influence on bringing this beautiful tradition alive again. In October You have a unique chance to learn how to make your own Himmeli with Eija!

During the workshop you learn the basics of making himmeli by constructing one basic model. With this knowlegde you’re then able to also make your own designs at home. Eija and Kari, her husband will also tell about the history of himmelis, not forgetting the real life stories about living on the countryside in Finland. The rye straws you will work with on the course are organically grown by Eija and Kari on their farm in western Finland.
